Monday evening, May 12th, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.,

Church of the Assumption, 20 East Avenue, Fairport 14450.

This was originally scheduled for January 7th as an Epiphany celebration; now, in May, you will encounter 6 most remarkable women who followed Jesus wherever he led: early Church leaders Prisca and Phoebe, Perputua (early 3rd century martyr), St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Josephina Bakhita, and St. Teresa Benedicta (Edith Stein).

Tuesday evening, November 19th, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.,

Sisters of Mercy Motherhouse, 1437 Blossom Road, Rochester, NY

This event is sponsored by the Mercy Prayer Center.

Both of these young Dutch women were profoundly affected by the Nazi occupation.  Etty (short for Esther) died in Auschwitz in November, 1943, but not before writing and working for peace, from deep within; Corrie and her family hid Jews in their home until they were “found out” and imprisoned.  Corrie lived many years, and continued to work for peace among all people.
