“Re-Membering”

LogoSwirl

This is about the movement to healing and wholeness from dismemberment, actual or metaphorical.  We begin with one of the most tragic stories in all of Scripture, the story  of the Levite’s concubine in Judges, Chapter 19.  And we slowly draw upon the life forces – from survival to oneness with the divine – that create our re-membering.  In the process, we hear from Queen Vashti (from the Book of Esther), the bride at the wedding feast of Cana 25 years later, Mary the mother of Jesus, a litany of women and Sr. Thea Bowman, at her preaching best.  When she leads us in singing “We’ve Come This Far by Faith,” we will know that we’ve been there, as well.
